About First & Fast Strides

This is our Learn to Skate Program. For the upcoming 2025-2026 season, thanks to funding from Speed Skating Canada, our Fall and Winter sessions are Free and limited to 25 spots.  There is no Fundraising required.  All sessions are at the Kinsmen Arena from 6:00-6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

First & Fast Stride lessons are designed to jump-start the beginner skater, ages 4 years and older.  

Skaters wear their own hockey or figure skates and are segregated on the ice into smaller groups according to their skill level.  This is to ensure there is a good ratio of coaches and helpers to skaters.
